Alfapass, operating under the authority of CEPA, is the central player in registering and managing access to secured port areas. As international transport flows intensified and digital expectations grew, CEPA and Alfapass recognized the need for a next-generation platform to maintain security, efficiency, and compliance across port terminals in both Antwerp and Zeebrugge.
The existing 1.0 platform, while reliable, no longer matched the growing pace and complexity of modern port operations. With users ranging from global logistics firms to local dispatchers, Alfapass needed a future-ready solution. The requirements? Secure, scalable, and easy to use, for both internal teams and external users all over the world.

To meet these challenges, Alfapass needed a trusted partner to combine business insight and technical execution. The Value Hub’s approach, which is centered around co-creation, short iterations, and a clear MVP roadmap, ensured both fast delivery and long-term scalability. The shared responsibility model created strong alignment and fostered continuous customer involvement at every step.
Together with Alfapass, we defined a clear product vision which we translated into a collaborative roadmap with prioritized business needs. The goal? Deliver incremental value through a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) approach, while maintaining alignment across all stakeholders.
In order to achieve that, an agile delivery team, supported by an experienced Agile Coach, worked closely with the internal employees at Alfapass to guide the development. We applied a Scrumban (Scrum + Kanban) methodology, blending structured sprints with Kanban flow to enable predictable velocity and continuous improvement. Every two weeks, a fully functional version of the platform was released, backed by robust CI/CD pipelines for automatic deployment and testing. After a few iterations, this approach led to 95% accuracy in workload estimations.
