WEWIS is the department for work, Economy, Science, Innovation and Social Economy of the Flemish Government. Every day, the department works to strengthen prosperity in Flanders through policies that support employment, stimulate entrepreneurship and create a strong industrial fabric. 

How do you bring structure to the complex world of public institutions and regulations? By translating strategic objectives to clear, human-centered digital solutions. We help WEWIS bridge that gap through in-depth functional analysis, workshop facilitation and expert guidance. As a team, closely involved and with a people-first mindset.

Departments like WEWIS work with complex regulations, fixed structures and shifting political priorities. Delivering impact in this context, requires translating measures to user-friendly, human-scale solutions. And that’s where The Value Hub joins the team. 

Our contributions and their impact 

Our analysts are embedded in different teams and contribute to multiple projects, all having one thing in common: social impact

  • Helping more people get into the job market, by realizing applications to correctly award the job bonus*. This major project, with an impact on a large part of the Flemish active population marks big wins in both business terms and inclusion. It’s state of the art of in terms of automation, ease of use and documentation. The implementation of this political measure won several prizes for its communication and inclusion, which we contributed to by simplifying the process to get yours. 
  • We empower people with disabilities to perform their jobs independently, by supporting employers in adapting the work environment. A big win in terms of inclusion, with real social impact. 
  • We enable controlled labour migration. This is a complex process because of the many regularizations (in terms of countries and types of jobs) and exceptions involved. We both supported the old application and paved the way for an ambitious new application that we are helping to realize today. 

*Job bonus. A bonus for every employee or cross-border worker earning less than €3,000 gross per month. 

Interaction, action, reaction 

Knowledge sharing is in both ours and WEWIS’s DNA. WEWIS brings together different experts such as analysts and scrum masters into guilds, where they share their knowledge and experience. The goal? Optimizing processes and defining opportunities. And that’s a win-win. Our employees actively participate in these sessions, share their expertise in inspiration sessions and help improve daily cooperation to create a lasting impact on the wider team.

Both The Value Hub and WEWIS focus on long-term thinking, prioritizing qualitative solutions.

Whether there are some standards to consider, such as certain user stories and epics, flexibility and a tailormade approach are the key to success. 


If we ask our team members, they explain their adaptive approach depending on the needs of the teams: “There is a big difference between senior and junior teams in terms of what they need from us. If you interact closely with the business teams – with a critical eye, and in mutual trust, you get to understand each other.” 

Apart from some best practices, there is no such thing as THE solution. Every analyst, team and organization is unique, and so is every solution.
